..the quiet things that no one ever knows.. 24 / over-educated / probably too far left / wanderer / smiley Wuthering Heights meets Stoner Wonderland -Yorkshire-California-Wales-South Carolina-Yorkshire- I like to move around a lot, but for right now, I'm back where I started.. politics. coffee. good books. good music. good people. menthol cigarettes. I rant about politics/human rights/international relations HERE: http://itsagutcheckofwhatyoubelieve.tumblr.com/ |

Pretty much my exact thinking on things right now.. Given the depth to which I am finding myself involved, yet again!

Very stressful day at work yesterday - getting a phone call yesterday lunch time telling me I have to give a presentation on legal support from NGOs at this conference I have to go to in Sheffield on Saturday does not correlate with a happy weekend - FUCK!!!!!
On a brighter note (and it is fucking bright outside YEY), a few pints at the pub and an evening on Rob’s (and Jack’s now, I guess) balcony with beer, several spliffs and a guitar almost makes up for it…
Working until 1ish today, then pub food in a beer garden somewhere then roller derbyyyyy =)
The whole world is happier when it’s sunny outside.

Work til 2am, morning sex, three hours of roller derby; my body is broken.
Going out for tea with my Mummy tonight before she flies off back to Northern California and abandons me tomorrow. Jealous.
Nap. Eat. Work. Smoke. Snuggle. GOOD PLAN!
This weeks favourite Post Secret. For obvious reasons. <3
I first met Genevieve after we were put on a fundraising team together almost two summers ago. After two mentalmentalmental weeks working the Devon/Cornwall site, fast forward two years and she is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met and I’m not sure what life was like before I knew her.
And she is leaving.
Tomorrow.
To live in Ibiza.
Why do all the best people move away?

I miss spending my weekends watching Lizzie McGuire.. But the way I spend my weekends now is pretty good too.. last night with some of my oldest friends was lovely and driving to Gen’s at 1am for mkat, chain smoking and emotional goodbyes was the way all Friday nights should be spent.. working tonight, then lots of smoking then Roller Derby/spliff&cider Sundays =)

I’m not particularly a fan of Twitter - I use it for work and it is pretty useful, but as far as it’s usefulness in my personal life goes it is pretty much redundant. I follow my sister using my work account (follow us @BEACON_Bradford if you have any vague interest in all things migration/asylum/refugees/human rights - if not, it’ll probably bore you!) and woke up this morning to this;
“If anyone was wondering where I am right now, it’s the first place on the entire EARTH to get the sun each morning. How cool?!”
Beyond jealous. I’m sitting in my office, (which has yet to really get any form of natural light worth mentioning), when I could be floating round Australasia, with my favourite person in the world whilst the rest of the planet is sleeping. I absolutely LOVE my job, I don’t think I could ask for anything better.. but part of me feels like I’ve sold out to the world of work when there is so much left to do and see. Amélie’s adventures in the South Pacific remind me of this every single day.. Worried I’m getting grown up and boring - searching cheap flights to Vietnam ASAP.
My beautiful little sister turned 14 last week. When I look at her, I see a mini me… I love her more than words can say.
